Comedy about the proverbial genie who comes out of a bottle (a table lamp in this instance) to serve his new master. The only problem is that instead of helping his master, the genie (Burl Ives) tends to get his master (Tony Randall) into more predicaments than he gets him out of.。糸井のぞによる同名マンガをもとにした本作。主人公の幸田すももは生きることも死ぬこともできず、自殺の名所「志手の岬」から徒歩5分にあるオーベルジュ・ギルダを訪れる。店主の白石夕雨子の言葉を受けたすももは、住み込みで働くことに。それぞれに事情を抱えた客が、オーベルジュ・ギルダでの滞在を通して再生していくさまを目の当たりにし、すももの心境に変化が生まれていく。。
