广告公司的职员佐久间俊介（藤木直人 饰）虽然衣着光鲜、生活奢华，但在公司中却要承受来自严厉的老板葛城胜俊（石桥凌 饰）的无情苛责和巨大压力。某晚他在葛城的宅邸外徘徊，无意中看见一名年轻女孩（仲间由纪惠 饰）翻墙而出。从女孩口中得知，这是葛城的私生女树理，因无法忍受养母和妹妹千春的盛气凌人而离家出走。最终，佐久间将树理带回自己家中暂住。
次日上班，佐久间得知他所负责的项目被同事抢走，愤怒之余他决定对葛城老板展开报复。他和树理联合制造虚假的绑架案，向葛城勒索三亿日元赎金。经过缜密策划，赎金到手，佐久间和树理从此分道扬镳。但他很快便发现，一切还并未结束……。The TARDIS lands in London on Christmas Eve, 1851 and almost immediately the Doctor hears his name being called.
