Ok, folks, this is my last Ishii upload. Totsugeki! Hakata gurentai is his first feature and last 8mm film. Haven't watched it yet myself, but from the looks of it, this is very much reminescent of eighties and nineties v-cinema, sort of like early Miike (only made in 1978). There is considerably more dialogue than in his earlier films, but it doesn't seem too complicated plotw...。とあるマンモス団地の29号棟に母と姉と共に暮らす小学生、木下ともお。父は単身赴任。彼のくだらなくも楽しい日常生活を周りの同級生、少し変わった大人たちを交えてときにギャグたっぷりに、時にはシュールに、時にはせつなさ、哀愁を漂わせながら描く。なお、各話のエピソード名には必ず語尾に「ともお」と付く。。
