故事发生在风景如画的苏州河畔，修车匠高志华（张铁林 饰）可怜小裁缝秦楠（龚雪 饰）无处安身，遂让她把摊子摆在自己的摊子旁边，一来二去之间，两人的关系逐渐亲密起来。高志华的母亲对温柔贤惠的秦楠十分满意，着急儿子终身大事的她对高志华和秦楠之间的感情十分支持。
