本集SP为《神探伽利略》系列的第0章，以TV版汤川学与内海熏相遇前三年的一起案件为主线。三年前的一天深夜，某海岛小屋发生了一起密室杀人案。被害人在反锁的屋内被锐物刺穿胸背，所在小屋亦被烧毁。已为警察的草薙俊平（北村一辉 饰）回到母校帝都大学，邀请12年不见的老同学汤川学 （福山雅治 饰）协助破案。汤川一行来到案发现场附近，一边享受海滩风光一边寻找案件线索。随着杀人案侦破工作的推进，只为还原案件物理原理的汤川逐步逼近着案件的真相，只是此时的他尚未意识到，人心亦是一门科学…… 片中亦穿插了一段汤川与草薙的往事。在海风的吹拂下，草薙向汤川的学生塩野谷（长泽雅美 饰）讲述了一起令他与年少汤川（三浦春马 饰）在大二结缘的案件…… SP根据该系列小说中《操纵》与《坠落》两篇故事改编，与剧场版《嫌疑人X的献身》同天推出。。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs. As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. Very upsetting indeed, all the more as they are required to keep up the Kéraudren estate in the meantime. To collect money, nephews and nieces organize a Son et Lumière show at the manor while busily looking for the missing corpse. But, unexpectedly, they get killed in turns. Murders or accidents? Jean-Marie, his fiancée Micheline and his cousin Edwige investigate and finally succeed in exposing the culprit.
