故事发生在战国末年，荆轲将儿子荆天明（蒋劲夫 饰）托付给了天下第一剑客盖聂（陆毅 饰），希望后者能够保护自己的儿子不遭残暴的秦始皇的毒手。盖聂带着荆天明一路逃亡，途中竟然将秦始皇派出的三百铁骑打得落花流水，于是，丞相李斯出马，谣言蛊惑了盖聂的同门卫庄（孙艺洲 饰），希望借卫庄之手，除掉盖聂。
